Today its only 10 days left until this years World Series Of Poker. At Friday the 30 of May starts the 2008 WSOP with the world championship of PL Holdem. The tournament is played over 3 days and has a buy in of $10000.
Last years winner of the PL Holdem event was the Full Tilt pro Allen Cunningham who cashed in a first prize of $487287. Last years buy in for this event was only $5000, so this year it will be even more interesting.
This years WSOP consists of 55 different events where the Main Event, which starts 3 of July, is of course the main attraction.
If you are not going to play the main Event you can always bet on the winner.
Some UK bookmakers have laid odds on the WSOP Main Event winner. Phil Ivey is the front-runner at 150-1. Daniel Negreanu is not too far behind at 225-1. Annie Duke is the only woman listed in the odds at 500-1, along with her pal Erik Seidel and a plethora of other pros.
Ben Affleck and Tobey Maguire, two of Hollywood's biggest hunks are each at a 2,000-1 shot.
But the Main Event has been hard to predict the last years. With something like 8000 players in the tournament you need to bee really lucky to win, even if you are a top pro. Some totally unknown player will probably win the main event this year also. If any bookmaker lay odds on him the odds will probably bee something like 2000 or 3000-1. If you know whom the lucky winner will be you can get rich by betting, you don’t even have to be in the tournament yourselves.
